The Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse of Southern Connecticut Inc. was founded in 1989 and Help for Kids was established thanks to a large effort and collaboration between the Department of Children and Families, local agencies, law enforcement, courts, medical professionals, community members and the Exchange Clubs of Connecticut.

Today Help for Kids supports a number of programs ranging from Healthy Families America, a nationally-recognized, evidence-based pre & post-natal home visiting program to their Exchange Parent Aid program that focuses on child safety, health, education, and housing, teaching positive parenting skills and resource navigation to ensure family well-being and reducing out-of-home placements, along with their Fatherhood program, 24/7 Dad, which provides education and support services for men looking for positive ways to interact with their children and families. Help for Kids is also a partner with the CT Diaper Bank in Fairfield County. All services provided by Help for Kids are free.
